WHO AM I? 

 

He was born in Donington in 1774, 

He was just a boy, nothing less nothing more. 

 

He went to school in Horbling, 

His education didn't go for nothing. 

 

He wanted to circumnavigate Tasmania, and couldn't wait, 

During his sailing he discovered the Bass Strait. 

 

He was given a boat called the H.M.S. Investigator, 

Over time its legacy became greater and greater. 

 

He wrote a diary on his travels, 

As he sailed through the channels. 

 

When he finished, he was filled with adrenaline, 

Years later the boat was named H.M.S. Xenophon. 

 

Who is this man, where Donington is where he came? 

Of course, Matthew Flinders was his name!
